Propane Delivery in Westchester, Putnam & Bronx County

Propane delivery in Westchester, Putnam & Bronx County has been part of what we do since 1986. Whether your home runs on propane for heat, hot water, or cooking — or you run a business that depends on reliable commercial propane supply — Almeida Oil has the infrastructure, experience, and service area to back you up.
We're based in Mount Kisco, we own our own wholesale fuel terminal, and someone answers the phone any hour of the day. Here's how our propane delivery service works.
Automatic Propane Delivery Westchester NY Residents Actually Use
Most people don't want to think about their propane tank. Automatic propane delivery is exactly what it sounds like: we track your usage, schedule your refills, and show up before you run low. You don't have to call. You don't have to check the gauge on a cold February morning.
Most of our propane managed tanks have a sensor that lets us know when you are running low. If the tank does not accept a sensor, we calculate your delivery schedule based on your tank size, your system's consumption rate, and local weather patterns. When a cold stretch is forecast, we adjust routes accordingly. By the time your gauge starts dropping into the lower third, we've already got a driver scheduled.
This is especially valuable for homes that use propane as their primary heating fuel — a run-out isn't a minor inconvenience, it's an emergency. Automatic scheduling is what prevents those unexpected interruptions.
Propane Tank Installation Westchester
Getting started with propane — or replacing an aging tank — begins with the right equipment. We handle propane tank installation for both residential and commercial properties throughout Westchester County.
What that looks like in practice
New installations require a site evaluation to determine the right tank size and placement. Tank capacity depends on your system's BTU demand, the number of appliances running on propane, and whether propane is your primary heat source or a secondary fuel. A home using propane only for a gas range needs a much smaller tank than one running a propane-fired boiler with a backup generator tied in.
We handle permits and inspections as part of the installation process. Every installation meets local code and manufacturer specifications before we deliver a single gallon.
For existing customers switching from a competitor's tank, we can coordinate the transition — including removal of the old tank — and get your automatic delivery set up from day one.
Above-ground vs. underground tanks
Most residential properties in northern Westchester use above-ground tanks because installation is simpler and inspection is straightforward. Underground tanks are an option where aesthetics or HOA rules require them, though they involve more involved installation and longer-term monitoring requirements. We'll walk you through the trade-offs during your free estimate.
Commercial Propane Supply
We supply propane to businesses across Westchester County and into Putnam County. Commercial customers include restaurants, farms, construction operations, greenhouses, and multi-family properties that run central propane systems.
Commercial propane supply looks different from residential delivery in a few key ways. Volume is higher, delivery frequency is greater, and an unplanned run-out can mean halting operations or failing a health inspection. We set up commercial accounts on dedicated delivery schedules that account for seasonal demand spikes.
Because we source through our own terminal, we can commit to competitive rates without passing along a middleman's margin.
If you're evaluating propane suppliers for your business, we offer free estimates and can usually turn around a quote within a day or two.

2. Free estimate if you need installation. If you don't have a tank or need a new one, we schedule a site visit. No charge for the estimate. We size the tank, identify the right placement, and pull any required permits.
3. Account setup. We add you to the delivery schedule and configure your billing. Budget billing options are available at this stage.
4. First delivery. For existing tank customers, we can often schedule within a few business days. If your tank is critically low, tell us when you call and we'll prioritize it.

40 Years of Fuel Delivery in Westchester
We've been in this business since 1986. That's four decades of delivering fuel to homes and businesses in northern Westchester — through price spikes, supply crunches, storm weeks, and everything else that comes with operating in this region year-round.
Owning our own wholesale 30,000 gallon propane fuel terminal is a significant part of how we maintain consistent supply and pricing. We're not waiting on a third-party distributor to allocate inventory to us. That independence is what allows us to offer price lock-in with confidence and keep automatic delivery running smoothly even when regional demand spikes.
We're also a family-owned, women-owned, and minority-owned business. The people answering the phone are the same people running the company — not a call center, not a franchise. That's been true since day one.

Frequently Asked Questions About Propane Delivery
How much propane do I need, and how often will I get a delivery?
It depends on what you're running and how much you use it. A home using propane only for cooking might go months between deliveries. A home running a propane-fired boiler as primary heat could need monthly deliveries or more during a cold winter. When you sign up, we calculate your expected usage and set a delivery frequency based on that — then adjust as we learn your actual consumption patterns.
What size propane tank do I need for my home?
For a home using propane as a primary heating fuel, a 500-gallon tank is typical. Larger homes with multiple propane appliances often go to 1,000 gallons. If propane is supplemental — covering only cooking or a fireplace — a 24-gallon or 56-gallon tank may be sufficient. We size the tank during the free estimate visit, so you don't have to guess.
What happens if I run out of propane?
Call us immediately. We offer 24/7 emergency service for our customers, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Running a propane system completely dry can cause issues beyond the empty tank — burners may need to be re-lit and lines may need to be purged before the system runs properly again. We'll walk you through what to check while a driver is on the way. Luckily, most of our tanks have Anova sensors which tell us exactly how much propane you have left, so we'll refill it well before you run out.
Do you install tanks for new propane customers?
Yes. If you're switching to propane or setting up service at a new property, we handle the full tank installation — site evaluation, tank sizing, permits, and inspection. There's no charge for the estimate. Once the tank is installed and inspected, we set up your delivery account in the same visit.
