No heat in January. A propane tank that hit empty on a Sunday night. These situations don't wait for business hours, and neither do we. Almeida Oil has been handling fuel emergencies across Westchester and Putnam County since 1986, and our 24/7 availability isn't a policy we added recently — it's how we've always operated.

Emergency Heating Oil Delivery, Available Around the Clock
When your heating oil tank runs dry, your burner locks out. The house starts dropping in temperature fast, especially during a Westchester winter. That's a no-heat emergency, and it needs a same-day response.
Our drivers carry heating oil on every emergency run. When you call, we'll confirm your address, get a driver routed to you, and give you an estimated arrival window. We cover Mount Kisco, Bedford, Katonah, Chappaqua, Pleasantville, Briarcliff, and many other towns — if you're in Westchester, Putnam or Bronx County, you're almost certainly in our range.
While you wait, we can walk you through a burner reset over the phone. After a run-out, the burner often needs to be manually reset once the tank has fuel again — it's a simple step, but easy to miss when you're stressed and cold.
What Happens When You Call for Emergency Delivery
Here's exactly what to expect:
1. You call (914) 666-4328. Someone answers — not a voicemail, not an automated system. Tell us your address, that you've run out of fuel or are critically low, and what type of fuel you need (heating oil or propane). If you are not our customer yet, we can sign you up on the spot for our automated delivery program.
2. We confirm your location and dispatch. We verify you're in our service area (you almost certainly are) and get a driver assigned. You'll get an estimated arrival time.
3. The driver arrives with fuel. For heating oil emergencies, our driver delivers enough oil to restart your system and carry you through until a full delivery can be scheduled.
4. We walk you through the restart. If your burner has locked out from running dry, we'll help you reset it once fuel is in the tank. Most oil burners have a single reset button; we'll tell you exactly where to find it and what to do.
5. We talk about preventing a repeat. We'll make a usage adjustment in your automatic heating oil delivery profile to make sure this doesn't happen again.
Emergency Propane Delivery
Propane emergencies work a little differently, but the response is the same: call us, we come out.
If your propane tank has run out, your stove, hot water heater, or backup generator goes down with it. In winter, a propane-heated home faces the same no-heat emergency as an oil-heated one. We provide emergency propane delivery across Westchester and Putnam County, and we treat propane run-outs with the same urgency as heating oil calls.
One thing to know: after a propane tank runs completely empty, the gas lines need to be checked for leaks and the system bled before relighting appliances. Our engineer handles that on arrival — it's standard procedure, not extra work, but it's something to factor into the time estimate. Luckily this doesn't happen often as our propane tanks are equipped with fuel level sensors and send that data directly to our office.

The Best Emergency Is the One That Never Happens
Most fuel emergencies are preventable. Customers on our automatic delivery program almost never run out — we track usage against weather data and schedule deliveries before the tank gets critical.
If you're calling us tonight in an emergency, the first thing we'll do is get you fuel. The second thing we'll mention is signing you up for automatic heating oil delivery so you never have to make this call again. It costs nothing extra to be on automatic, and it means we're watching your tank so you don't have to.

Frequently Asked Questions About Emergency Fuel Delivery
How fast can you deliver in an emergency?
Response time depends on how many drivers are on the road and how far you are from our Mount Kisco base, but we treat every no-heat call as a priority. For most of our service area, you can expect a driver within a few hours of your call. During severe winter storms or regional demand spikes, we do our best to give you an accurate window when you call — and we don't leave you without an answer. For anything on our FAQ page, check there as well.
My burner won't restart after you delivered — what do I do?
This is common after a run-out. Call us back. Most oil burners need a manual reset after the tank has gone dry, and sometimes they need a second reset if there's air in the line. We'll walk you through it over the phone. If the burner still won't fire after two resets, there may be a separate mechanical issue, and we can schedule a service call.
Do you charge extra for emergency or after-hours delivery?
Emergency deliveries do carry a premium over our standard delivery rate — that's standard across the industry for after-hours and weekend service. When you call, we'll tell you the rate upfront before the driver is dispatched so there are no surprises on your bill. We keep it fair; the goal is to get you heat, not to take advantage of a bad situation.
